The Grand Fir (Abies Grandis) has glossy dark green needles with silver undersides that grow parallel to the stem. When the needles are squeezed in the hand they emit a pungent aroma that is spicy and sweet. A Grand Fir will perfume your whole house with its pleasant distinctive fragrance. The branch structure is perpendicular to the trunk and while very dense, it is not as compact as Douglas fir.
