The Noble Fir (Abies Procera) is often referred to as the "Cadillac" of Christmas trees. It has branches covered with dark green needles, many with a silver blue cast, that grow straight out from the trunk in parallel whorls. A slow-growing tree it takes eight to ten years to develop its potential as a Christmas tree as opposed to six to eight years for Douglas Fir and Grand Fir.
By far the most durable of all species commonly grown for Christmas trees, Noble Fir needles almost never shed no matter how badly the tree has been mistreated. Sturdy branches will support heavier ornaments and lights. Nobles have more open branch spaces giving room for decorations.
